Trois pedestrians were killed in separate incidents on Friday. This prompted police to take extra caution when driving as the weekend began.
Sunflower Drive, Claremont Meadows, western Sydney was evacuated by emergency services just after 6 pm after reports of an elderly man being struck by a vehicle.

“The 80-year-old was treated at the scene by witnesses and NSW Paramedics; NSW Police said in a statement Saturday morning.
The Daihatsu sedan driver, aged 24, has been taken to Nippen Hospital. There will be mandatory testing. Specialized police from the crash investigation team will then investigate the scene.
Police were dispatched to another location just 45 minutes later on Castlereagh Road, Penrith, after receiving reports that a man had been injured by a Mazda BT-50 ute.
“The 32-year-old was treated at the scene by witnesses, police and paramedics in NSW; but police said.
For mandatory testing, the 43-year-old driver of a ute was also taken to Nippen Hospital.
“Officers from the Nepal Police District Command set up a crime scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
In the southern Tablelands area of the state, police were called to Barton Highway near Murrumbatman around 6:30 p.m. to report that an elderly woman was injured by a Mitsubishi Triton.
